Effects of Human Placental Substance to Growth of Candida

Abstract
Culture of Trichomonas and Mycobacterium tuberculosis in difficult in obstetrical and. gynecological clinic. According to Filatow¡¯s biogenic stimulator theory, it has been proved in our department that water soluble placental substance accelerate growth and proliferation of yeast. In order to know the quality of the growth promoting factor and usefulness, function and mechanism as a culture medium, the function of cold placental substance to growth of candida albicans has-been observed.
As experimental materials, normal full term placenta, after keeping in a dark place at 2-4¡ÆC.
for 5 days, was smashed and filtrated under 100¡ÆC. for 30 minutes.
i) Diffused through cellophane paper at 60¡ÆC. for 24 hours.
Non diffused Fluid¡¦¡¦¡¦ DI. diffused Fluid¡¦¡¦¡¦ DO.
2) Ether-Alcohol (1:3) was added and left at 60¡ÆC. for 24 hours.
The supernatants fluid EA.
3) Ether was added and left at pH 2, 40¡ÆC., for 30 hours.
The superficial fluid¡¦¡¦..OA.
4) Ether was added- at room temperature for 24 hours.¢¥
The superficial fluid ¡¦¡¦. E.
As a medium for culture of candida albicans, 5, 10 and 20% DI., DO., EA., OA. and E were added instead of Neopeptone in Sabouraud Medium.
The growth and proliferation of candida albicans were remarkably accelarated in DI. and DO., somewhat accelerated in EA. and OA. and no acceleration was observed in E.
